Sorted
The Sorted scheme is definitely one our
most popular projects. It provides activities
for young people and their families mainly during
the school holidays although we now also provide
some other activities including after school ten
pin bowling. Below you will be able to see a gallery
showing a small selection of photos taken from
previous activities.
Since 1997 WNP has run an annual programme of
events during the summer holidays for young people
and their families. However as a request from
local people, in 2005 the programme was expanded
to include other school holidays and providing
we receive sufficient funding we plan to continue
developing the scheme.
In 1997 Sorted initially offered 45 activity
places for 10-16 year olds during the summer holidays
but it has since greatly expanded and now includes
many opportunities for families to enjoy things
together with heavily subsidised costs.
Summer Sorted 2005 saw more than 1500 places
provided for 10 family trips including Pleasurewood
Hills, Suffolk Wildlife Park, Dinosaur Park and
the seaside. Other school holidays have each seen
200 places for families to see films such as Wallace
and Gromit, Narnia and Chicken Little and in February
2006, almost 150 people attended a special Valentines
party. A forum for families to help monitor and
plan future activities meets regularly and all
suggestions are welcome.
We continue to provide a variety of holiday
activities for 10-16 year olds such as sailing,
climbing, roller skating, archery, badminton and
DJ mixing. We also aim to introduce new interests
to young people and as such have included activities
such as capoeira and African drumming and dancing.
Outside of the school holidays, we now run Bowling
Sorted which is an after school activity.
Please note: Due to the high popularity
of all aspects of the Sorted programme, the scheme
does get over subscribed and additional funding
would allow us to help meet the demand for this
service.
If you would like to receive information about
current or future activities for family trips
and/or 10-16 year old activities or if you would
like to find out how to join the Sorted forum,
