For the first time ever, WETA (the west Earlham traders association) in conjunction with the West Norwich Partnership and members of the community organised a Christmas fair in the Earlham West Centre. Visitors to the fair were able to buy last minute Christmas gifts, join in with fun and games in and around the shops and facilities of the parade as well as enjoying a whole host of entertainment from Christmas carols by the West Earlham middle school choir to Morris dancing and poetry by local performer Pixoidman. There were also several workshops throughout the night enabling fair-goers to try their hand at Cuban drumming, junk drumming and dj mixing with the Pa of Ska, DJ Tonic. The fair was opened by the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Felicity Hartley and was attended by over 700 people. The Earlham police were also on hand throughout the night to ensure safety of all revellers.
