Community Support
We support a range of community organisations
in the west Norwich area through a range of services,
including providing advice, support and facilitating
campaigns. This includes:
A Community directory –
contacts for services and organisations in the
west Norwich area. This also helps us promote
the many positive and diverse aspects of the community.
Earlham West Parade –
WNP has been actively supporting the traders of
this shopping parade who have faced issues such
as loss of trade, graffiti and vandalism. We have
helped the traders form a traders association
and facilitated a Christmas display for the parade
with other plans including clean up days, a street
fair and the regeneration of the shops.
Marlpit Mardle Club –
a scheme launched in the Spring of 2003 providing
those over the age of 55 with a weekly social
facility, visited by support agencies and organisations
offering advice and guidance on a range of issues
from crime reduction to pension and welfare benefits.
BizFizz – WNP has worked
successfully with Norwich City Council, New Economics
Foundation and The Civic Trust in order to bring
this scheme to Bowthorpe. It enables and supports
local people into business as well as providing
support to existing businesses. Anne Francis is
the BizFizz coach based within our offices. She
can be contacted on 01603 507457, 07899 953974
or via email bizfizz@wnplive.org.uk.
Localise It – WNP is a
partner in the Localise It campaign which aims
to promote the social, environmental and economic
benefits of buying local food.
Bowthorpe News – We continue
to support this highly popular monthly production
that goes out to over 4000 homes in the Bowthorpe
area.
Mobile Exhibition Unit –
This enables us to reach and provide advice to
the wider community and also enables other organisations
to hire the unit to promote their work.
